PM Sets June 25 as Census Day, Urges National Participation
Prime Minister Gaston Browne has declared June 25, 2025, as Census Day, urging nationwide participation in what he called a critical exercise for national development.
Calling for unity, Browne framed the census as a non-partisan effort vital for effective planning in healthcare, economic policy, and social services. He noted with disappointment the absence of the Opposition Leader at the launch, saying collective support was essential.
“This is not about political allegiance; it’s about ensuring every resident is counted,” he said, stressing the need for accurate data to shape public policy.
Addressing concerns among non-national residents, the Prime Minister assured that all census information is confidential and will not impact immigration status.
He warned that an undercount could harm long-term planning and urged all communities to take part, saying the results will shape the country’s future.
