Hispanic Community Unites in Outrage Following Murder of Chantel Crump
The Hispanic community in Antigua and Barbuda is calling for justice in the wake of the brutal murder of Chantel Crump, a tragedy that has left many residents shaken and fearful.
Speaking out in an emotional plea, members of the community expressed their deep sorrow and anger over the incident, emphasizing that such violence is unprecedented in the country. One speaker, who has lived on the island for two decades, shared that they had never witnessed anything like this before and now fear for the safety of their own children and grandchildren.
“This was premeditated, this was not a mistake,” a distraught community member stated. “Whoever did this has to pay for the crime. We are only sorry for Chantel because we love the children, and when you talk about one child, you have to protect them all—Hispanic, English, everyone.”
Residents are now urging the public, especially within the Hispanic community, to assist law enforcement in their investigations to ensure that the perpetrators are brought to justice.
“Say something, help the police do what they have to do,” another speaker implored, warning that if justice is not served, others could fall victim to similar violence.
The murder of Crump has heightened anxiety, with many parents now hesitant to send their children to school, fearing for their safety. The community continues to mourn her loss while demanding action from authorities.
Law enforcement officials have yet to release further details on the investigation. Anyone with information is encouraged to come forward.
