SENATOR MICHAEL JOSEPH SAID; Update: Chantel Crump – Missing 9 year old
Firstly, as a father of a 7 year old girl, my heart aches as I empathize with the family during this trying time. I cannot remotely imagine what they are going through right now. Like the family and many others, sleep is a far desire as every second is spent with bated breath in hopes of receiving some positive news regarding young Chantel’s location.
I’ve spent the last 5 hours with the family, supporters, well wishers and the police identifying every possible lead (which have all been investigated and yielded a negative result), any possible sighting or any possible information regarding who could have abducted young Chantel Crump (all have been acted upon by the police).
There has been a constant dialogue with Assistant Commissioner of Police Samuel Joseph who has been exceptionally responsive in coordinating more than 19 units of officers to investigate the varying leads within the Grays Green community and outside.
The police are following varying leads (even at present) and I truly hope that they are able to find her and return her safely to the arms of her parents.
It’s important to note that this isn’t a missing child but an abducted child from all the information to present. Therefore I am pleading with the individual or individuals who are responsible for this act to return young Chantel to her family that is shattered right now because of her absence.
