The Minister of Information, Communication Technologies (ICTs), Utilities, and Energy, Melford Nicholas, has issued a public statement disavowing any involvement in recent solicitations targeting the business community.

Minister Nicholas clarified that he has not authorized any group or individual to seek financial or material resources on his behalf.

“It has come to my attention that person or persons unknown to me have been making verbal representation via telephone to various members of the business community, claiming to represent me,” the minister revealed.

He expressed regret that some business owners might have been deceived by these fraudulent activities, emphasizing that he would never engage in such practices.

“I am therefore using this medium to notify and advise all persons in the business community to approach any future representations with suspicion and scrutiny. Let it be clear: I have not authorized any such solicitation,” Nicholas stated.

The minister urged vigilance and encouraged businesspersons to verify any claims made in his name.

“It is not my way, and it has never been my practice,” he concluded.

The Ministry of ICTs, Utilities, and Energy advises the public to report any suspicious activity related to this matter to the authorities.
