Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre Introduces Revitalized Research Oversight Board with New Leadership
The Sir Lester bird medical center said: We have some exciting news! 𝗪𝗲 𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗮 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘇𝗲𝗱 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘁𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗥𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄 𝗕𝗼𝗮𝗿𝗱 (𝗜𝗥𝗕) 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘀.

These individuals were selected based on their knowledge and expertise in clinical research, ethics, and regulatory compliance. Together, they will help guide the IRB’s work in ensuring that our research continues to meet the highest ethical standards.

The Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre Institutional Review Board (SLBMC-IRB) is an appropriately constituted group whose primary responsibility is to ensure that the rights and welfare of human subjects in research are protected.
In doing so, the IRB must ensure all human subject research activities are conducted ethically, and in compliance with national regulations, the requirements of applicable Antigua & Barbuda laws, and institutional policies and procedures.
The IRB has responsibility for approving, modifying, and/or disapproving human subject research. The IRB also has the authority to suspend or terminate research in order to protect research subjects and for noncompliance with applicable rules and regulations.
