Alfred Delice will spend 17.5 years in prison for the manslaughter of Steve Pablo Francis, who died following a violent confrontation in St. Johnston’s Village on July 14, 2021.

The altercation began with a verbal dispute, escalating when Francis confronted Delice with scissors, prompting Delice to stab him with a screwdriver.

Later that night, Delice inflicted a fatal stab wound to Francis’s head, causing a brain injury.

Delice initially pleaded not guilty to murder but admitted to manslaughter.

Justice Ann Marie Smith sentenced Delice to 26 years, citing aggravating factors like concealing the weapon, but reduced it to 17.5 years due to his guilty plea, prior good conduct, and apology to the victim’s family.
