Antigua’s Got Talent returns to the stage on December 14, registration now open

Are you a singer, dancer or musician? Perhaps even a poet or magician? If so, the organisers of next month’s Antigua’s Got Talent show want to hear from you.

The third edition of the popular event will take place on Saturday December 14 at Lucky Eddi’s in English Harbour, a spectacular venue complete with professional stage, lighting and PA system.

Registration opens today and the contest is open to all non-professional performers aged 16 and over.

The show is once again being hosted by Ibis the Livest and entrants will perform before a live audience and panel of celebrity judges.

Top prizes are on offer for the three winning performances, and a raffle featuring luxury staycations, day passes, gift vouchers and more will be drawn on the night.

As with the previous two editions – held in 2019 and 2022 – the show aims to raise crucial funds for the PAAWS animal charity.

“We are incredibly excited to be organising the third edition of Antigua’s Got Talent. We know there is a huge amount of talent within our twin isles and we can’t wait to see the acts that sign up this year,” said PAAWS’ public relations officer Gemma Handy.

“This is a fun event aimed at unearthing some of the country’s lesser known stars. But it has a serious mission too; the PAAWS shelter which has been running for almost three decades is facing closure due to plummeting finances.

“We hope to collect enough money so that it can continue its vital work reducing the number of sick, injured and stray animals wandering our streets, which is heart-breaking to see and also presents a devastating blow to tourism.”

This year, VIP sponsorship of the event is on offer and has already attracted interest from a number of private companies keen to lend their support.

“We still have a small handful of VIP sponsorship places left. For just EC$1,000 you can have your company’s advertisement displayed on stage on the night and get two prime spots in Lucky Eddi’s brand new mezzanine VIP area which offers an elevated view of the stage,” Handy explained.

The 2022 Antigua’s Got Talent crown was claimed by soca singer Stephen Gore who will open the show next month and officially hand over the title.

“We are appealing to the public to come out on the night, show your support for the performers and enjoy what promises to be a vibrant and energising show,” Handy added. “We will also be drawing our raffle on the night and you won’t want to miss the wide array of luxury prizes waiting to be won.”

The show starts 8pm sharp. Entrance is EC$20 for adults, children free.

Registration for performers is now open and fee is EC$20. Call or WhatsApp 789-2662.
