Shawn Nicholas Dismisses Resignation Rumors, Vows to Continue Fight for UPP

All Saints West, Antigua and Barbuda – At a political rally held in All Saints West last night, United Progressive Party (UPP) General Secretary Shawn Nicholas took to the stage to directly address rumors circulating about her resignation from the party.

The speculation, which suggested she might join some of her former colleagues in departing from the UPP, was firmly denied by Nicholas in her passionate address to supporters.

“For those who were thinking or even entertained the thought that Shawn Nicholas was considering resigning from the UPP, I’m not moving anywhere,” she declared.

Nicholas made it clear that if she were ever to step down from her role, she would handle it within the party, not through media reports. She criticized the rumors, calling the media coverage a “comic show.”

Despite the distractions, Nicholas urged her party members to remain focused and committed to the cause, stating that many people depend on the UPP to lead the fight for a better future in Antigua and Barbuda.

“We have to remain grounded. There are thousands of people out there who are depending on us to carry on the fight, and we cannot disappoint them,” she said.

Highlighting the importance of perseverance, Nicholas emphasized that whether it was three people or thousands, the UPP would continue the struggle for the country’s betterment. “I have to fight for my son, your children, and your children’s children,” she added, stressing the generational impact of the UPP’s mission.

The rally, held in the politically significant All Saints West constituency, drew support from UPP faithful, as Nicholas’ remarks echoed the party’s commitment to pressing forward despite challenges.

With her firm stance against the rumors, Nicholas reaffirmed her role in the UPP, pledging to continue her fight for the party and the nation.
