Police are investigating the theft of a $36,000 propane generator from a business along Herbert’s Main Road.

The 26-kVW Generac generator was taken sometime between Sunday afternoon and Monday. Investigators said the thieves cut a copper line, removed an APUA electricity meter and detached the unit from its concrete base before fleeing. The generator has not been recovered.

In a separate report, a 59-year-old Powells resident told police a black water hose was stolen from her home while she was away.

Investigations into both incidents are ongoing.
