The government of Antigua and Barbuda has committed $21 million to road construction equipment in 2025, aiming to accelerate community road repairs across the nation.
Prime Minister Gaston Browne, in his New Year’s address, outlined the initiative as part of broader efforts to tackle infrastructure challenges.
“We have resurfaced many roads nationwide, and this additional investment will enhance and accelerate the pace of community road repairs,” Browne said.
The Prime Minister acknowledged the long-standing issues of decaying infrastructure, describing the government’s approach as determined and purposeful.
The initiative forms part of a wider program addressing public infrastructure, including the refurbishment of schools, hospitals, and government buildings, to improve the quality of life for all citizens.
Browne reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to resolving these challenges systematically.
