13 More Doctors Named As Scholarship Recipients To Pursue Medical Specialties



The Prime Minister’s Scholarship Committee, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, Wellness, the Environment and Civil Service Affairs, has awarded scholarships to a group of doctors pursuing advanced specialisation degrees.
This initiative aims to strengthen healthcare resilience by investing in human capital.
The doctors, who will be undertaking postgraduate studies in various medical and pharmaceutical fields, were recognised for their commitment to improving the nation’s healthcare sector. The scholarships will enable them to specialise in areas critical to the country’s medical infrastructure.
The recipients and their respective specialisations are:
- Dr. Sophia C. Browne – Cardiology, Cuba
- Dr. Anthony Mansoor – DM General Surgery, UWI Mona
- Dr. Sinead V.N. Small – Pediatrics, UWI Mona
- Dr. Eli Edwards – General Surgery, UWI Mona
- Dr. Brandon Thomas – DM Hematology, UWI Mona
- Dr. Mitchell Henry – DM Radiology, UWI Mona
- Najma Vian Richards – Dr. of Pharmacy, Albany College of Pharmacy
- Cyan D. Clarke – Dr. of Pharmacy, UTech
- Brandon D. A. Browne – MSc. Acute Medicine, University of South Wales
- Elloy T. Tonge – MSc. Health Edu & Promotion, Walden
- Dr. Jasunella Gore – PhD. Public Health
- Dr. Julian Yazigi – DM Neurosurgery, UWI STA
- Dr. Shada Dorville – DM Otorhinolaryngology, UWI STA
This initiative underscores the government’s commitment to healthcare advancement by equipping local professionals with specialized expertise. It is expected that upon completion, these doctors will return to Antigua and Barbuda to enhance the national healthcare system and provide critical services to residents.
