100 Days to Go -Antigua and Barbuda Begins Countdown to CHOGM 2026

Today marks 100 days until Antigua and Barbuda welcomes the Commonwealth family for the 2026 Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) scheduled for 1–4 November 2026.

The milestone marks a significant moment in the nation’s preparations as Antigua and Barbuda moves closer to hosting one of the Commonwealth’s most important gatherings. The twin-island nation stands ready to welcome Heads of Government, delegates, representatives, partners and international media from across the Commonwealth’s 56 member states for this historic occasion.

CHOGM 2026 provides Antigua and Barbuda with an opportunity to showcase its leadership, culture, heritage, hospitality and commitment to advancing meaningful dialogue on issues of importance to the Commonwealth. The Meeting will bring together leaders, senior officials, business representatives, youth voices, civil society organizations and international partners to strengthen cooperation and address shared priorities.

The Honourable E.P. Chet Greene, Minister for Foreign Affairs, Trade and Immigration and Chair of the CHOGM National Taskforce 2026 said the 100-day milestone reflects the nation’s continued commitment to delivering a successful Meeting.

“The 100-day milestone represents an important chapter in Antigua and Barbuda’s journey to hosting CHOGM 2026. It reflects the dedication, collaboration and national effort that have guided our preparations. This Meeting provides an extraordinary opportunity to showcase our nation’s leadership, resilience, culture and potential while welcoming the Commonwealth to our shores. I encourage all citizens and residents to embrace this historic moment and recognize the important role each of us will play in making CHOGM 2026 a success.”

Karen-Mae Hill, High Commissioner for Antigua and Barbuda to the United Kingdom and Member of the Commonwealth Board of Governors highlighted the significance of the Meeting in strengthening Commonwealth partnerships.

“As a proud member of the Commonwealth family Antigua and Barbuda is honoured to host CHOGM 2026 and provide a platform for dialogue, collaboration and partnership among member states. This Meeting will bring together leaders from across the Commonwealth to address shared priorities and reaffirm the values that unite us. Sharifa George, Co-Lead of the Media and Public Affairs Committee on the CHOGM National Taskforce emphasized the importance of ensuring citizens and residents remain engaged throughout the countdown.

“Reaching the 100-day milestone marks the beginning of the final countdown to CHOGM 2026. Our focus remains on ensuring that every citizen and resident understands the importance of this historic event and feels a part of Antigua and Barbuda’s journey as we prepare to welcome the Commonwealth to our shores” said George.

To commemorate the milestone members of the CHOGM National Taskforce are participating in a series of media engagements across radio and television platforms, providing updates on preparations while highlighting the significance of CHOGM 2026 and the opportunities it presents for Antigua and Barbuda.

This commitment to public engagement will continue throughout the countdown period as the CHOGM National Taskforce brings information, awareness and excitement about CHOGM 2026 directly to communities across Antigua and Barbuda.

As preparations continue the CHOGM National Taskforce will bring the excitement of Antigua’s Carnival 2026 the Greatest Summer Festival. Through interactive activations during the Opening Parade the Taskforce will engage residents and visitors, share information about CHOGM and celebrate Antigua and Barbuda’s role as host nation.

These initiatives form part of a wider public awareness campaign designed to encourage national participation, build understanding and ensure that citizens and residents recognize the lasting opportunities associated with hosting CHOGM 2026.

With 100 days remaining the CHOGM National Taskforce invites all citizens and residents to join the countdown stay informed and take pride in showcasing the very best of Antigua and Barbuda as the nation prepares to welcome the Commonwealth and make history.
