A man recently released from prison is in the hospital after being shot by police during an arrest following a robbery in Yepton’s.
The 20-year-old, from Grays Farm, allegedly stole two cell phones from beachgoers, prompting a swift police response.
Officers found him nearby with the stolen phones reportedly in his possession.

As they attempted to take him into custody, he allegedly attacked the officers with a firearm, leading to him being shot in the arm.
The man, who had been sought by police in connection with a shooting near the CMC Supermarket earlier this week, is now under investigation for both incidents.
