A male inmate at Her Majesty’s Prison (HMP) died suddenly on Monday night, prompting an investigation by prison authorities.
Jeff Richardson, 40, was on remand for a wounding charge.
Superintendent of Prisons Colonel Trevor Pennyfeather confirmed the incident and stated that police were on the scene last night to gather information.
Richardson had been on remand for about a month.
