Randy Baltimore Condemns ‘Beach Access Stunts,’ Urges Opposition to Prioritise National Interest in Tourism Zones

Yesterday, members of the opposition conducted what can only be described as a ‘beach access check,’ visiting several beaches in St. Phillip’s North Constituency including those near hotels and frequented by tourists to film confrontational style content. While public access to beaches is a right protected by law, deliberately staging such stunts in tourist hotspots sends the wrong message to the international community.

Antigua and Barbuda depends on tourism as its lifeblood. No one, regardless of political affiliation, should risk the country’s image or the visitor experience just to make a point. There are appropriate and constructive channels to address public concerns. Turning peaceful tourist zones into political battlegrounds not only undermines our industry but also harms the hardworking locals who rely on tourism to support their families.

Political leaders should act with responsibility, patriotism, and respect for the people of Antigua and Barbuda and protect our national interest first. #CountryOverPolitics#CountryFirst
