Rashawn Shabazz, the individual shot by police last week, is now conscious and recuperating at the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre (SLBMC), showing positive signs of recovery.
After spending several days in the Intensive Care Unit of SLBMC, he has been relocated to the surgical unit.
Medical sources report encouraging vital signs and progress in his condition.
Shabazz, who lost a kidney during the police altercation last Wednesday, has been diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder, a condition his father attributes to previous drug use.
His family and medical team are closely monitoring his recovery in the aftermath of this incident.
