Prime Minister Gaston Browne has hit back at St George MP Algernon “Serpent” Watts, calling his threats of legal action over recent comments a fabrication and attention-seeking.
Browne’s fiery response came after Watts denied accusations that he called for police to kill gang members and announced plans to sue the Prime Minister for defamation.

Browne dismissed Watts’ claims, referring to him as a “clueless nicompoop” who is fabricating the issue for attention. “I said that ‘Serpent’ irresponsibly tried to dissuade the gang members from meeting with me by peddling propaganda, warning them that I was seeking to entrap them so that the police could lock them up,” Browne stated.

The Prime Minister did not mince words, labeling Watts a “cold, heartless buffoon” for his actions. “Bring it on!” he added, indicating he is ready to face any legal challenge.
This latest exchange escalates an already heated dispute between the ruling party and the opposition, with both sides trading sharp words over serious accusations.
Watts remains backed by the United Progressive Party (UPP), while Browne continues to stand firm on his original stance, accusing Watts of spreading propaganda to stir controversy.
