Nigel Bascus, leader of the Missing Link-Voice of the People (MLVOP) Party, has announced his candidacy for the upcoming St. Mary’s South by-election. Bascus, a passionate fisherman, seeks to promote aquaculture in Antigua and Barbuda to enhance food security and generate substantial revenue.

If successful, he plans to donate his parliamentary salary to the Constituency for a year.

In the event of an unsuccessful bid, he remains open to collaborating with other parties and candidates.

The MLVOP, founded in 2003, aims to foster cooperation between the United Progressive Party (UPP) and the Antigua Barbuda Labour Party (ABLP).

The by-election follows Simon’s resignation, triggered by a legal dispute over his eligibility as the Constituency’s representative.
