Montserrat’s People’s Democratic Movement (PDM) Announces Merger with NPM toContest Oct 24th General ElectionsBrades, Montserrat (September 02, 2024)— On Monday, September 2nd, both Hon PaulLewis, Leader of The Opposition on Montserrat, alongside Former Premier of Montserrat HonDonaldson Romeo came together to announce, via ZJB Radio Spirt of Montserrat, the merger ofthe National Progressive Movement (NPM) under the People’s Democratic Movement (PDM)umbrella, led by Hon Paul Lewis, to contest the upcoming 2024 General Elections on October24th.
Both Parliamentarians outlined during their radio address, that the decision to come togetherreflects their deep commitment towards unity of purpose, which they consider to be essential totake Montserrat forward.
By coming together, the parties have seen it in the best interest of Montserrat’s development topool resources, ideas, and strengths to build the next government that truly represents the desiresand aspirations for progress of every resident and citizen of Montserrat.
This merger under the PDM banner to contest the October 24th General Elections, brings togethertwo past Presidents of the Montserrat Civil Association (CSA); a former Premier; a formerSpeaker of the Montserrat Legislative Assembly; three former Ministers of Government; theLeader of The Opposition; a former Parliamentary Secretary and Parliamentarian; alongsideskilled entrepreneurs and businessmen that adds to the vibrancy of skills, desire and true believein the future of Montserrat’s promise, to form the next government to move the island forward.
