Martins Village Resident Faces $45,000 Fine After Home Search Unveils Illegal Items

Dequan Christian, a Martins Village resident, faces a $45,000 debt following a December 20 police search of his home.

Law enforcement, executing a warrant, found Christian in a wooden shop, prompting a tense encounter.

Upon subduing him, authorities discovered an unlicensed silver and black firearm with ammunition, marijuana in plastic bags, a scale, vacuum sealer, and cash.

Christian, charged with various offenses, including unlawful firearm possession and cannabis distribution, appeared in court.

Magistrate Dexter Wason imposed fines totaling $45,000 ($20,000 for cannabis, $20,000 for the firearm, and $5,000 for ammunition). Christian must pay within six months or face a half-year prison term.
