Long-serving Public Servant, Ms. Joan Carrott, Retires After 45 Years of Service

After a distinguished 45-year career in public service, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Public Safety and Labour, Ms. Joan Carrott, has officially retired. Ms. Carrott marked her final day in office on Thursday, March 6, 2025.
During her tenure, Ms. Carrott earned widespread recognition for her unwavering commitment and contribution to the Ministry’s work. Attorney General and Minister for Legal Affairs, Public Safety, Immigration and Labour, Hon. Sir Steadroy Benjamin, praised her dedication, calling her an “outstanding and dedicated public servant.”
In his remarks, Sir Steadroy highlighted Ms. Carrott’s exceptional work and the important role she played in the public sector, thanking her for her years of service to the people of Antigua and Barbuda.
Ms. Carrott’s retirement brings to an end a remarkable chapter in the country’s public service, with many colleagues and citizens lauding her for her professionalism and tireless efforts throughout her extensive career.
