NHC – The National Hurricane Center has issued advisories for Tropical Storm Ophelia, situated several hundred miles south of Cape Hatteras, North Carolina, signaling its presence in the North Atlantic.

Meanwhile, in the central tropical Atlantic, an area of low pressure, known as AL90, has displayed a slight decrease in shower and thunderstorm activity.

However, the potential for further development remains high, with a tropical depression expected to form within the next few days.

This system is currently moving westward at a speed of 10 to 15 mph but is anticipated to shift its trajectory to the west-northwest early next week as it traverses the central tropical Atlantic.

The likelihood of formation stands at 70 percent within 48 hours and rises to 90 percent within the next seven days.
