LETTER: Displeasure Regarding the Partnership with Willy D Houses in Freeman Village

Dear Editor,
I am writing to express my profound dissatisfaction with the quality of construction and overall project management of the Willy D houses in Freeman Village, undertaken in partnership with Community First Co-operative Credit Union. As a homeowner who invested in this project, I have encountered numerous issues that are simply unacceptable.
The workmanship displayed in the construction of my home is substandard and riddled with problems, including:
Poor Plumbing,
Damaged Flooring: Floor boards had several chops in them and had to be puttied.
Septic Tank Installation: Septic tank was not finished even after letter of completion was given. Pipes were not completely connected.
Broken Toilet Seats: toilet seat was broken within 3 weeks.
Cracking Steps: In less than 3 months cracks amongst the step started to show.
These deficiencies point to a lack of quality control and oversight during the construction process.
Furthermore, the delivery of many homes were significantly delayed beyond the timeframe initially promised. This delay caused considerable inconvenience and disruption to many personal plans.
In addition, the absence of a dedicated project manager from the credit union to oversee the construction process is a major concern. It has resulted in a lack of accountability and responsiveness to the issues faced by homeowners.
Despite repeated attempts to contact Willy D to address the construction problems, the workers have been unresponsive and failed to rectify the issues. This has forced many to hire outside contractors at thier own expense to fix the deficiencies, adding further financial burden.
While I commend the pleasant and helpful demeanor of the staff at the Willy D office, it does not compensate for the significant shortcomings in the construction quality and project management.
I am deeply disappointed with the partnership between Community First Co-operative Credit Union and Willy D houses. The poor workmanship, project delays, and lack of responsiveness to rectify the issues have caused significant distress and financial strain.
I urge the credit union to take immediate action to address these concerns. This includes assigning a dedicated project manager, ensuring prompt response to repair requests, and holding Willy D accountable for the substandard construction.
Please take my concerns seriously and implement the necessary measures to rectify the situation for all affected homeowners.
Sincerely,
DISAPPOINTED
