Fisheries Division Seeks Public Assistance in Locating Stolen Diesel Generator
The Fisheries Division is urgently seeking the public’s assistance in locating an Airman Silent Diesel Generator (SDG45 series) that was stolen from the Point Wharf Fisheries Complex between September 20th and 22nd, 2024.
The generator, used to power the pulley system for hauling and launching large fishing vessels, was taken from the slipway area of the complex.

Given the generator’s size and weight, it is believed that significant manpower or a heavy-duty vehicle would have been required to remove it from the shed where it was housed. The shed was designed to protect the equipment from the elements, adding to concerns over the coordinated effort likely involved in the theft.

Chief Fisheries Officer Ian Horsford has released a photo of a similar but larger generator from the Airman SDG series (SDG60) to help with identification efforts. The Fisheries Division is appealing to anyone who may have seen suspicious activity in the area during the timeframe or who has information on the stolen generator to come forward.
