
Dominica Police Investigate Apparent Suicide of Elderly Woman
Authorities in Dominica have launched an investigation into the suspected suicide of a 74-year-old woman in the community of Castle Comfort.
According to police, officers from the Criminal Investigations Department were dispatched to the Williams residence at approximately 7:57 a.m. following reports of a possible suicide.
On arrival, investigators discovered Rosemary Williams with a bed sheet around her neck, tied to the upper post of her bed. She was found unresponsive in her bedroom.
A district medical doctor later confirmed her death at the scene. Police say no signs of foul play have been detected at this stage of the investigation.
Inspector Fixton Henderson is overseeing the case. An autopsy has been scheduled, and a coroner’s inquest is expected to follow.
