The first-ever Police King Competition marked a significant departure from the annual queens pageant during Police Week, as Corporal Jain Benta emerged as the victor.

The competition featured participants including first runner-up Sergeant Clint Spencer and second runner-up Constable Ewarth Nedd.

Corporal Benta serves as the aide de camp to Police Commissioner Atlee Rodney, while Sergeant Spencer is assigned to the Criminal Investigations Department’s Tactical Operational Unit, and Constable Nedd works at the Heritage Quay Outpost under the St. John’s Police Station.

This unique event took place at the Antigua Recreation Grounds on Saturday, September 9, heralding the commencement of Police Week 2023, themed “With Dignity and Pride, We Are Working Together With Our Community.”

The official week began with a church service at the Swetes Wesleyan Holiness Church and spans from September 10 to September 17, featuring a range of exciting events, including the Police Calypso Monarch Competition and the highly anticipated presentation by the Police Drama Group.
