https://www.phnompenhpost.com/: Cambodia and Antigua and Barbuda are making significant strides to promote bilateral relation between the Kingdom and the Caribbean island state, according to a November 24 press release by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
The commitment to promote bilateral relations was made during a “productive bilateral meeting” between Sok Chenda Sophea, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, and Chet Greene, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration and Trade of Antigua and Barbuda, on November 24 during the latter’s working visit to Cambodia.
“Despite the geographical distance, the two foreign ministers affirmed their unwavering commitment to further activating the two countries’ functional cooperation for the common benefit of their respective peoples,” said the release.
Chenda Sophea gave his counterpart a comprehensive overview of Cambodia’s political and economic landscape.
“The discussion delved into certain potential trading commodities, particularly rice and cashew nuts, as well as collaboration in tourism and agriculture, demonstrating the Kingdom’s commitment to advancing economic exchange.
“Minister Greene was impressed by Cambodia’s economic growth and encouraged the Kingdom to consider Antigua and Barbuda as a gateway into the Caribbean market,” said the release.
They also touched on other global issues of common concerns and interests and pledged to support one another in international forums.
