The Antigua and Barbuda Meteorological Service says air quality across the country remains in the “good” category despite the presence of minimal Saharan dust.

A bulletin issued Sunday night placed the Air Quality Index (AQI) between 30 and 50 and indicated that conditions are expected to remain in place until Wednesday.

The service said concentrations of particulate matter (PM2.5 and PM10) are currently low and no action is required.

The advisory was issued under Alert Level I, the lowest level in the air quality monitoring system.

While people with respiratory or heart conditions, older adults and children are generally considered the most vulnerable groups, the bulletin said there are currently no health implications associated with the dust levels being observed.

The Meteorological Service urged the public to continue monitoring official forecasts and updates through its communication platforms.
